Celtic Vs Barcelona: A fixture between these two teams reminds me of a very special Champions league match in 2011-12 which went on to become a good example of ‘Be Clinical Enough’. Everyone favoured the world-class lineup of Barcelona to easily overcome their opponents, but same wasn’t the picture that day. Barcelona dominated possession, dominated shots on target, dominated chances created, yet at the end they couldn’t dominate the scoreline losing 2-1 to Celtic. That game went on to present the brilliance of present Southampton first choice goalkeeper Fraser Forster. Now, this match wouldn’t be similar in terms of the intensity or performance since its a pre-season match, however, it would be another treat to watch.

Team News – Barcelona
Some good news for Barcelona is addition of two of their biggest stars Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi’s return to the team training preparations and are very likely to feature in the match. However their complement Neymar.Jr won’t be present as he is currently training for the Upcoming Rio Olympics in his home country. But Arda Turan would use this opportunity to impress his coach and nail down a place in the starting XI. Also, we will be able to see Denis Suarez in action who returned from Villareal last season. However we won’t be able to see any of Umtiti, or Digne. The new young defensive signings are enjoying vacations currently. Jeremy Mathieu will bw back in action, returning from tiredness last week while Martin Montoya remains sidelined with a muscle problem.

Probable Starting Line Up: Masip; Vidal, Lopez, Mathieu, Adriano; Turan, Samper, D Suarez; Messi, Suarez, Munir

Celtic comes into this match after retaining a 1-1 draw in a crucial Champions League Qualifier against Astana. Their new boss Brendan Rodgers will take this match as a ‘perfect preparation’ for their final leg of the Qualifier. And the former Liverpool boss will be delighted to reunite with former Invincible Kolo Toure who will be expected to start in the match. However, Erik Sviatchenko and Kristoffer Acer are set to miss out.
