Real Madrid are ready for life without ‘Golden boy’ James Rodriguez as they are in the chase to sign Dimitri Payet who the Los Blancos eye as the perfect player to replace the Colombian. But the deal is not expected to happen earlier before the Euro 2016 as Real Madrid decided to watch the player closely in the international fixtures before making a big offer.
James Rodriguez joined Real Madrid after a wonderful World Cup with his national side Colombia who won the Golden boot scoring Six goals in five fixtures. James beat the likes of Thomas Muller and Lionel Messi to win the very prestigious award. Madrid are always chasing stars under Florentino Perez and James ticked all the boxes that the Real Madrid president value the most. He is skillful, he is world class, he can win you any game on his day, he is smart and his is marketable. What does Perez want more ? James was signed immediately after the World Cup.
In the first season, James was inevitable for the Los Blancos as he played almost every game under Carlo Ancelotti. James is arguably Real Madrid’s best attacking player during the tough season when they finished trophyless after a 22 games winning streak. In his second season, James was not impressive and did not play as expected also a dip in form and decisive injuries hampered his chances in the first team. When Zinedine Zidane took over from Rafa Benitez, he changed the team’s tactics and made Casemiro as his pivot in the center which excluded James Rodriguez from his starting berth.
James Rodriguez may not have a starting role in Real Madrid right now, but a major part of the fans, players, and the mentors feel the Colombian is one of the future stars for the Los Blancos and constantly denying any rumors of the player leaving the Santiago Bernabeu.
