Real Madrid contact Robert Lewandowski

The Los Blancos have contacted the Poland international’s agent to discuss a potential move to the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer. Real Madrid are eyeing to shuffle their squad, mainly in the final third of the pitch, as usual. This year, it is Robert Lewandowski who is topping the list of players Real Madrid want and the player’s agent confirmed that they had a talk which is informed to Bayern Munich where Lewandowski has a contract running.

Karim Benzema, the current No.9 of Real Madrid and an integral part of the famous attacking trio BBC has not lived to the expected levels at the Santiago Bernabeu in a number of occasions and the player’s deteriorating finishing abilities in the final third is one of the reasons why Real Madrid are after a striker. Madrid are behind the likes of Sergio Aguero, Robert Lewandowski and the other top strikers in Europe for the last one or two seasons, but they were not able to materialise any real deals.

Also, Real Madrid offloaded La Fabrica product Alvaro Morata which left the Spanish capital side with no backups to Karim Benzema. The French man suffered injuries quite a number of times this season, leaving Real Madrid in struggles when they faced strong opponents. Without Benzema, Real Madrid found it hard to play a balanced team since they do not have a traditional No.9 to play every game. Though Real Madrid young sensation Borja Mayoral featured in a number of occasions, the teenager is too weak to play along with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.

Robert Lewandowski is reportedly very keen on joining Real Madrid as the player thinks the Decima winners can help decorate his career better than the Munich giants. His agent,┬áCezary Kucharski told German news magazine Spiegel that they had a meeting with Real Madrid’s representatives fueling the on-going transfer mill.

“Real Madrid contacted us a few weeks ago, we listened to everything they said. It’s a big and exciting club. We have informed FC Bayern that we’ve held talks with Madrid.”

The player himself has stated on many occasions that he has a deep wish to play in the Primera Division, Spain, and the circumstances are favoring his wish.
