Leicester City Transfer News: There’s more Money to Spend

Leicester City Transfer News: Claudio Ranieri’s men are ready to spend in order to land further new signings before the summer transfer window shuts. Leicester City will sign more players in the last five days, confirmed Leicester vice-president. Ranieri has already added not less than five new players this transfer window. The Foxes had already broken their own transfer record twice in a week to land Papy Mendy for £13million and Ahmed Musa for £16m along with Bartosz Kapustka arriving for a further £5m along with keeper Ron-Robert Zeiler for a reported £2m, and defender Luis Hernandez has completed the signing spree on a free transfer.

Leicester city have also had to improve the contracts of their players significantly. More than six !! Namely, Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez, Kasper Schmeichel, Wes Morgan, Andy King and Ben Chilwell. Claudio Ranieri also agreed on an extended and improved contract with the club.

But vice-chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said more money was available.

Ranieri has identified Sevilla midfielder Steven Nzonzi as a potential signing. Nzonzi is reportedly interested in a return to England. The 27-year-old has a  €30 million (£25 million) buy-out clause in his Sevilla contract but a possible move has been backed by Leicester’s owners as they prepare for the Champions League.

Leicester City Transfer News – Possible Targets

Ranieri lost Kanté to Chelsea last month. Despite signing Nampalys Mendy, the Foxes are ready to recruit another defensive midfielder. Monaco are also interested in the Frenchman but Leicester according to sources, have made preliminary contact. Mendy though is expected to miss at least three weeks after coming off early due to an ankle injury.

Aleksandar Dragovic is the other player being linked with a move to the King Power Stadium. The 25-year-old Dynamo Kiev centre-half was linked with a move to Leicester earlier this summer. In January, LCFC were reported to have offered £12m with add-ons but Kiev were said to be asking for £25m which put a bump on the transfer.

Dragovic is an Austria international with 38 caps played the latest Euro 2016 squad. But didn’t have an eventful time in France. LCFC are said to have switched their attentions to Dragovic after failing in their attempts to land Burnley centre-half Michael Keane.

This might be the biggest problem for Leicester and to most other clubs! Identifying the right players and to top it off, make the clubs willing to part with them. Aiyawatt admitted that they would spend “if the right opportunities arise”. Arsene Wenger did support the same as his team struggles to find a top class Centre Back and a Striker.
