Manchester United plot £79million Marco Verratti bid

The Red Devils have made Marco Verratti as their one of the priority signings for next season who is valued at £79 million by the Ligue 1 giants. Although his market value is £40 million, the Italian midfielder has become one of the priciest assets ever since he joined Paris Saint-Germain from Pescara in 2012, playing a vital role in PSG’s four back-to-back Ligue 1 titles. Verratti’s time has been blighted by injuries this season, as he only made 28 appearances in all competitions without hitting the back of the net even once and assisting only 5 times.

Verratti has made 157 appearances for PSG since making his debut for the Ligue 1 outfit in 2012 but the 23-year-old is now being linked with a move to Old Trafford as the player looks for new experience in his career.

Reports suggest the Red Devils are preparing a £79m bid to sign the Italy international with Jose Mourinho believed to be a big fan. Manchester United aren’t the only club chasing his signature. European giants and 11 time Champions league winners, Real Madrid have been linked with a move for the Italian international.

FC Barcelona have also been linked with a move for Verratti as they are looking for a long term replacement to Andres Iniesta. Verratti who is just 23 years of age could be the perfect signing for the Catalan giants.

Former Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has public expressed his love for fellow compatriot Verratti whom he tried to lure the player to the Santiago Bernabeu when he was the manager of Real Madrid. Now at Bayern, he can push for the Italian international.

Manchester United will have to fend off competition from European rivals as they want to sign the Italian international. But there’s a good news for United fans, Zlatan Ibrahimovic who is on the verge of completing his move to the Old Trafford happens to be a great friend of Verratti which could see the Red Devils take the edge over their rivals.

Marco Verratti is highly rated by Paris Saint-Germain’s chiefs and the French champions will not sell their best player so easily. But considering the lack of competition in the Ligue 1 and repetitive failure in the Champions League, Verratti may be tempted to look for a move away from the Parc des Princes.

Manchester United plot £79million Marco Verratti bid and the Red Devils are willing to offer a huge £6.7m-a-season wages to Verratti if the Italian agrees, according to reports. With the attractive competitiveness of the English Premier League playing a vital role, we could see the Italian making a move to the ‘Theatre of Dreams’.
