Vincent Kompany, the Manchester City skipper saw his team’s 0-0 draw against Real Madrid at the Etihad Stadium as a good result for his side but felt the result should worry Real Madrid more. Manchester City will travel to the Santiago Bernabeu next week aiming to score an away goal which will increase their chances of making it to the Champions League finals.
Real Madrid started the game on the backfoot, but the Los Blancos improved with time and they were clearly the better side on the pitch in the second half. Kompany played a solid game in the heart of Manchester City defense, managed to keep the real Madrid forwards at bay. Not many of the defenders on Earth can stop Real Madrid at ease.
“I expect us to score a goal and, if we do, it will be really interesting.”
“We’ve got a really good away record in the Champions League. Nil-nil, if it was an away game for me, I would not feel comfortable,” Kompany told City’s official website.
“We’re still an offensive team, who are always looking to score goals. If we don’t manage to score a goal anyway, what claim can we make in getting to the final?” Kompany added.
