Mats Hummels wants UCL win with Bayern Munich for the upcoming 2016-17 season. The 28-year-old defender made a controversial switch to Bayern Munich, thus becoming one of the three players in recent years to do so. The move was not just controversial, it also brought so much hatred and criticism for Mats Hummels and Bayern Munich.

Mats Hummels wants UCL win with Bayern Munich

I want to win titles.

After the European Championship, which we unfortunately did not win, the Champions League is now one of my main goals.

If I win the Champions League, I will have exceeded all my expectations and dreams. It is a major challenge for me.

Bayern have come incredibly close to winning the Champions League again in recent years. That’s why we have a big opportunity to fight for the title in the next few years, Hummels told Sport Bild.

Hummels has thus declared his main ambition for now, on which he is focused upon, which is the coveted Champions League crown, that he couldn’t lift with Borussia Dortmund in Wembley, ironically losing it to Bayern Munich on that fateful night.

Bayern have lost all of the last three Champions league semi-finals to the big three of Spain. They hope to bring an end to that curse under the subtle management of Italian mastermind Carlo Ancelotti.

Carlo Ancelotti won the Champions League with Real Madrid in 2014 defeating defending Champions Bayern Munich in the semi-finals. In fact, the Spanish giants recorded one of the best ever victories against their German rivals, defeating them 5-0 on aggregate. Mats Hummels who was defeated by Bayern Munich in the finals of the Champions League 2013 join hands with Carlo Ancelotti who was with Real Madrid when Bayern suffered a humiliation. The manager hurt Bayern while the player was hurt by Bayern, now the two are together and want to win the most coveted silverware – The UEFA Champions League.
