Chelsea to announce Thibaut Courtois replacement

I’m not kidding ! YES, Chelsea are all set to replace their Belgian shot-stopper. Thibaut Courtois reportedly involved in a training ground bust-up with Chelsea’s goalkeeper trainer Christophe Lollichon. Also, Chelsea’s incoming coach Antoine Conte has not impressed with the Belgian when he visited Chelsea’s training ground last month. It is reported that the Italian has signaled Chelsea to offload the big Belgian and asked to sign a player he admires a lot, SAMIR HANDANOVIC !!

Courtois’s second season with Chelsea was filled with injuries and suspensions as the player missed almost 50 percentage of the League games due to injury. Asmir Begovic played as a deputy and it is expected that he will bench the Belgian since Begovic showed his class whenever he was played. But the hard truth is the former Stoke player is no match for the former Atletico Madrid star. Courtois won La Liga and Champions League runners-up with Atletico and was a vital part for Diego Simeone.

Jose Mourinho, the former Chelsea boss immediately installed Courtois as his No.1 choice between the sticks when the Belgian returned from Atletico completing his two years loan spell. Chelsea’s legendary shot-stopper Petr Cech was sold just to make sure that Courtois is Chelsea’s future. Along with Cech’s sale, Courtois wanted his former goalkeeping coach Guy Martens to be signed by Chelsea to which the Blues did not oblige.

Thibaut Courtois did not like that a bit according to reports and is considering to leave the club where he can get his all problems fixed. But is this a problem? Has to be answered by the player himself. Though the player did not say a word about that at least publicly and is maintaining that he wants to stay with Chelsea for many years to come. In his latest interview, the Belgian told:

“Me, I like playing in England. Paris is a very good club but I am happy at Chelsea. I have a contract for three years, so I will say 100 per cent.”

“This year, we have not defended our title well like we needed to. We must regather our forces to return stronger and get back to the Champions League.”

Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli recently claimed that Thibaut Courtois’ future is not at Chelsea and also declared that Conte will sign Samir Handanovic as a replacement.
“Let’s start with a rumble, you now know Antonio Conte has recently given his permission to the sale of Thibaut Courtois at Chelsea.”

“And I can reveal he has decided who will take his place – Samir Handanovic,” he told Tribal Football.

As for now, what we can conclude is no one is given a ‘reserved’ place in Chelsea’s squad until Conte arrives.
