Alvaro Arbeloa bids farewell to Real Madrid

Alvaro Arbeloa, the veteran Real Madrid fullback will play his final home on Sunday against Valencia. Arbeloa joined Real Madrid’s academy as an 18-year-old teenager. He came through the ranks at Real Zaragoza but is considered as a Real Madrid product since major of his youth career was spent at RM Castilla, the reserve team of Real Madrid.

Throughout his career, Arbeloa has been a strong supporter of his club Real Madrid who even involved in social media fights with fellow Spanish National teammate Gerrard Pique for the latter’s taunts about Real Madrid. Though the veteran had suffered form issues in the last couple of seasons and is widely criticised for being too slow in tracking back, the Los Blancos have a special place for Arbeloa. He is considered as one of the finest products by La Fabrica in this modern era and his achievements vouch for the claim.

Born at Leon, moved to Zaragoza later, Arbeloa started his career with Real Zaragoza but the player is a complete MADRIDISTA. He is so loved by the fans and has very respectful status in the dressing room. Arbeloa has made almost 200 appearances for Real Madrid in his career being one of the most trusted fullbacks under Jose Mourinho.

Real Madrid are locked in a tough La Liga title chase this season which may see Arbeloa not given a start in his last home game, but it is expected that the players will give him a grand farewell after the game. Former Real Madrid player and Arbeloa’s best friend Xabi Alonso paid tribute to his close friend who is also joined by Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata, a Real Madrid academy graduate who spent his youth days with Alvaro Arbeloa at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid fans may have regrets over not selling Alvaro Arbeloa last summer as most of the fans thought the player is not in his prime anymore and may cause the team troubles. they were right as Arbeloa’s errors caused some goals to his side, but he is not a good backup by any means. He has done his job well and good, no one can argue about his quality, his commitment or his dedication to the shirt he wears. Alvaro Arbeloa is a MADRIDISTA by heart and will be regarded as one of the most loyal players Real Madrid have had in this generation where loyalty can be expected as a trade for MONEY.
